Today's a sleepy monday indeed. A very wet and cold Monday here in NYC. The weather is so bad pillows are necessary. This guy knows this deal!

Singer Miguel drop kicks girls
Last night, while I was catching up on the season finale's of Scandal and Revenge I scrolled through my twitter feed and saw someone tweet about Miguel drop-kicking a girl at the Billboard Music Awards. I ignored the tweets and didn't think too much of it until I saw this in the morning:
I can not stop laughing and I know it's wrong but damn.... this looks like it should have been apart of a WWE match. I hope those young ladies weren't injured too bad and I hope they get to see a good chiropractor today. The worst part of this whole fiasco is .... Miguel did not plan this jump.
****POST UPDATE @ 3:44PM EST - Thank you Bossip.com for posting this:

Here's the proof, look at his twitter feed where he mentions getting caught up in the moment. That doesn't sound like a planned jump to me. Does he think he's Usher or NeYo? Miguel needs to take a seat in the corner somewhere and stop landing ass first on girls.
"@MiguelUnlimited got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay #BBMA "
Damn Miguel I guess you won't be jumping off of stages any time soon.

Sleepy Monday's
This is a sleepy monday champion at it's best! We should all take notes of her napping skills. They may come in handy at some point.
1 - Her bag is safely tucked under her feet.
2 - Her hood is on and being used as a pillow.
3 - She's using the pole to keep herself from leaning the opposite way and possibly sleeping on someone.
Talk about skills!
Sleep on my sistah sleep on!

Food | Bare Burger | Quick Review
Earlier today I was looking for a place to brunch in Forest Hills, Queens. There were not too many options for brunch but defiantly a ton lunch spots. I walked by Bare Burger which is a place I've been too a few times when I lived in Astoria, Queens.
Earlier in the week, I did a general yelp search for brunch spots in Forest Hills and Bare Burger did not come up on the list. When I spoke to the hostest she mentioned that a brunch menu was added to this location a few months ago. I was pleased to hear this because this will be a great brunch spot to come to when I'm in Forest Hills.
I did enjoy the food and I do recommend you readers out there to eat at Bare Burger just because they serve organic meat. I'm totally against fast food burgers and if you have a Bare Burger in your area this should definitely be an option. They also have Vegan options available.

My brunch consisted of a delicious mimosa, scrambled eggs, sausage, carrot cake french toast, a fruit cup, and sweet potato w/ parsley and garlic wedges. I've never had carrot cake french toast before. They were moist, delicious, and the raisins were so firm and good. This has now become one of my favorites. The french toast was very sweet just like a dessert, I do not recommend adding syrup to french toast.
**Food Scale: (5 being the greatest and 1 being the least)**
Bare Burger | Forest Hills | 71-49 Austin St. | Queens, NY
Food: 5 (I will definitely return here and have brunch, probably the same dish)
Service: 3 (The waitress didn't know if the carrot cake french toast had coconut in it or not, it does not by the way and when asked her opinion on another dish she didn't give a clear answer. She was very friendly though)
Cleanliness: 5
Price: 4 ($30 - $40 range for 2 people brunch)

Tips On Surviving A Village Voice Food Event: Choice Eats
This year my foodie friend Kelly and I finally scored tickets to Choice Eats.
Choice Eats is a food event hosted by the Village Voice and features over 50 restaurants that are known as New York City's "hidden gems." Last year we tried to get tickets but they were sold out, so this year (our first year attending) we were very excited about going.
We decided to meet up at the 69th Armory on Lexington Ave a half hour before the event started. That was a big mistake! The line went around the building in a complete circle. We waited an hour in the cold to get into the event. Once we were in we were pumped and ready to taste all of the foods the vendors offered.
The tastings I enjoyed were from Banana Leaf, Fanny, Anella, SCRATCHbread, Black Shack Burger, Lucky 777 Chili, Peppa's Jerk Chicken, No. 7, Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Luke's Lobster, Butter & Scotch, Robicelli's, Fay Da Bakery, and my top top favorite: Mexico Lindo. I was so full when I left the event I couldn't even think about food or snacks until the next morning. And the wines and vodka samples that I tried were delicious. This is an event that every New Yorker should experience at least once.

Here are 5 tips on surviving a Village Voice Food Event - Choice Eats:
1 - Come early. (I showed up at the venue a half hour early and ended up losing an hour of the event time. If the event starts at 6:30pm, be on line at 5:30pm.)
2 - Bring a friend. (I stood on one line for a tasting and got 2 servings while Kelly stood on another line for a tasting and got 2 servings. This helped us cut our wait time in half.)
3 - Come hungry. (Be sure to have an empty stomach when you walk in. There will be food every where you turn.)
4 - Dress comfortably. (Wear flats and bring a big enough bag to hold your goodies.)
5 - Have a beer or water first. (Before you start eating grab a beer and if you don't drink beer grab a water, you will need it.)
Next month, Kelly and I will be attending Choice Streets --- the sister foodie event of Choice Eats. It is also a Village Voice event. This time around we'll be tasting foods from 25 of New York City's favorite and highly sought-after food trucks. Tickets are still available for Choice Streets if you live in New York and are interested in going.

Sleepy Monday's - Daylight Savings Edition
I couldn't help myself this morning.
This guy kept nodding off and sleeping on my shoulder so I had to snap a pic of us.
I get it though....
Let's all shake our fists in the air and scream out "Damn you daylight savings time!"
Happy Monday Everyone!
