Prevention

Happy Monday All!

Here's photo #5 of The Sleepy Monday Series.

This photo was taken on an Manhattan bound A-train - the lady to the left kept falling asleep on whoever sat near her.

The woman on the right had the smart idea of putting her purse in between the two of them to prevent any touching or possible drool spillage.

Graffiti Tour Part 4

This past weekend I finally got around to finish editing Part 4 of Cortesnyc's Puerto Graffiti Tour. It's a 6 part series and I'm glad to present Part 4.
The music was produced and created by Cortes... check it out....

In this video he's painting in Ferreteria La 31 in Puerto Rico.
From the footage it looked like a successful event. It was also great to see Cortes signing tons of black books, cards, hats, whatever these kids threw at him.
It was like they were surrounding him trying to get his autograph.

Check him out...

Surfs Down!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Here's the pic that I call "Surf's Down"

This guy fell asleep on the A train - coming from Far Rockaway - and I know he's getting that good sleep where you don't know where you are once you wake up....

I forgot

I forgot how much I loved Kelis' song "Get Along with You"...... I love her hair, her make up and the dark heartbroken non-fairy tale Tim Burton Corpse Bride theme...

I can't wait until she comes out with her next album ... I've pretty much played out her 2006 album Kelis was here already

Learn how to Massage Your Cat

This video is just silly. It's an instructional video on giving a proper cat massage. If you've owned a cat or had any contact with a cat you and I both can agree that there's but so much "massaging" a cat will let you get away with. After you watch it check out my comments below...

  • Why does this lady keep switching back and forth from her real cat and her stuffed tiger?
  • At 1:14-1:18 did she just say that the cat might shuffle her out of the door? huh?
  • LOL @ her "drooler" joke (1:43)... that was funny
  • Personally I am a fan of the "breast stroke" and "belly-rama"
  • Is the cat high? Did she drug it?
Ah... so many unanswered questions....

Blog about a blog.. about a blog.. about a blog

For the past few days, I've actually had some down time and I've been able to "surf" the Internet again... I've even gotten re-acquainted with my Google Reader.

The other night on my hunt for new blogs to read,,,, I hit gold....

It's a clever, well written blog about a woman's outlook on the quirky little things that her new husband does.

From the first post I fell in love..

This blog is "right up my alley"
since I'm more drawn to personal/life blogs more than entertainment blogs.

And most of the articles feature topics that almost anyone can relate to.

The post that I recommend is titled; The Green Sweater ... you'll be sure to giggle.

And I know.. it's so corny to blog about a blog... but I'm hooked and I like the drama.

Not Cute...

As long as I can remember I've seen weird Ronald McDonald commercials.
It didn't help that anytime I went to a McDonald's restaurant I'd come encounter with a weird sitting statue of Ronald.

I've never liked him or his statues.

Mostly because he's always seemed creepy, inappropriately red haired and in my mind he reminded me of Michael Jackson.

But when I saw this Japanese McDonald's ad I didn't know how to react?

Is this supposed to be sexy? Since she's a model is this suppose to be chic? I thought Ronald McDonald was a fun advertising trick to get wanting happy meals..... So is this ad still targeted to children??

I don't like it and I don't get it... it's not cute or sexy or funny ... it's just creepy!

Here's the caption for the ad:
A McDonald's Ad for a new Japanese McDonald's burger, the Tomato McGrand with a sexy female model.

Trailer Friday's - The Week of August 15th, 09

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of watching The Order of Myths... from
what I remember this documentary opened my eyes to the fact that every year Mobile Alabama holds two separate Mardi Gras celebrations. One for the whites and one for the blacks.

It's pretty entertaining and I enjoyed the narrator not taking sides. I think it's worth seeing.

Check out the trailer:

Me ... a Queens girl?

Greetings bloggers and blog-readers..

For the past year I feel like I've changed.

My whole life I've been a Brooklyn girl, everything about me oozed of Brooklyn.

But as of recent I feel like I belong in Queens.

Growing up I never really needed to go to Queens except for hanging out around Far Rockaway because of the beach.

But........Ohhh now I'm so in loved with Queens ...

I had a blast one weekend at Flushing Meadow Park... I saw the giant globe for the first time.

Sunnyside has the cutest little restaurants

I had the best fried snapper at Tierras Colombiana with my friend Kelly in Astoria

I enjoyed just hanging on a Saturday afternoon in a local park in Ozone Park.

And Austin Street in Forest Hills have the best little lounges and shops.

And I can't forget to mention 5 points in Long Island City... I've spent some great days and nights there just hanging out

Ahhhhhhh!!! I can't believe it but eventually I'll be moving my little life to Queens (outside of Ozone Park).

Could it be that I'm turning into a Queens chic w/ a Brooklyn heart?

The "Sleepy" Monster

Happy Monday! ^_~

Here's photo #2 of the series.

This photo was taken on a Flushing bound 7 train.

The amusing element of this photo is the Monster Energy Drink that's in this mans bag.

I guess it didn't give him much energy.

A Chicken What????

Sometimes it's just so easy to go to a fast food restaurant and see a photo of what your meal will look like.

For example:

McDonald's.

Everyone knows what a big mac looks like and what to expect when ordering one.

Now.... what is one to do in Paris when they see this photo?

Do you order an ass chicken chica?
What does it come with?
How is it made?
Can I have a side of fries with that? LOL!!

A dear friend of mines has just returned from Paris and he was kind enough to take this photo for me....

Daily News!

I was hanging out with Cortesnyc and one of his friends passed him a link to a Daily News article titled: NYC's Coolest Graffiti...

Cortes and I clicked on the link, scrolled through the different amazing productions until we came across photo # 9 (see below)

Cortes and Meres's second 5 Points Collaboration

Oh my! their piece is considered one of the coolest graffiti productions in New York City!!

Whooooohooooo
!

The article reads:

The government's graffiti war continued through the 70s and into the early 80s. The late 80s saw a rapid decline in graffiti and in 1989, the last graffiti-covered subway car was taken out of service. By the 1990s, graffiti artists had definitely hit the mainstream with many starting their own art galleries.
The above work is by famed graffiti artists Cortes and Meres, according to Graffiti.org.
I remember filming these guys in the freezing cold. It was a mission but they stuck it out, ignored the bad weather and finished the wall. I'm so proud of them.

Check out the video I shot and edited displaying the progression and completion of this "cool" wall.
