Yoga for Black People

I just got back into Yoga a few weeks ago.. so I'm looking for any tips to help make the transition a bit easier..

I do not think this will help anyone who wants to learn yoga...

My favorite television shows

If you follow me on twitter you may know that I love watching True Blood, Dexter, Entourage, How I Met Your Mother, The United States of Tara, and Jersey Shore.

If you do not follow me on twitter be sure to follow me @tameekatime

True Blood is ending soon (I believe there are 3 or 4 more episodes left).
This season has been one of the greatest.. I definitely enjoyed this one over the last season.

Jersey Shore has been going strong and making me laugh every week.

I'm sooo behind on Entourage but I plan on catching up soon.

Toni Collete, star of The United States of Tara is being nominated at the 2010 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. And according to the shows wiki page, "three days after the season 2 premiere, it was announced that it would be picked up for a third season", I can't wait for this show to return.

Earlier this week, I managed to catch up on last seasons episodes of and I'm so ready for the new season of How I Met Your Mother to start of September 20th. (If you want to watch full episodes of last season go to

And my favorite show of all.... Dexter returns on September 26th! I can not wait! Here's Season 5's trailer!

Speaking of weddings...

Yesterday I attended a wedding for one of my relatives.

And for the past week I was on the hunt for the perfect dress.

I harassed one of my friends via MMS message with helping me decide on a dress.

Here were my choices and below that is the dress I ended up going with..

What are your thoughts? Do you think that was the right dress to wear to a wedding?

Should I have gone with another choice?

Holla at me!!

Wedding Sundays

For the past few months, I've started a tradition (unknowingly) of watching wedding shows on Sundays. WE (women's entertainment) television station plays back to back episodes of Bridezilla and David Tutera's My Fair Wedding.

It was only until last weekend when I discovered how much I am a fan of Mr. David Tutera.

Before the show My Fair Wedding I knew nothing about this man.

Mr. Tutera is a celebrity wedding planner and a bridal fashion designer.

I absolutely love how he transforms ordinary weddings into magical dream weddings.

Last Sunday, someone twittered that David would be doing a live chat. So, I had to go on and try and talk to David.

I have no immediate plans of getting married but I just wanted to reach out to him and I nearly flipped my lid when he answered one of my questions in the live chat. Out of all the girls that sent David questions, he answered one of MY questions....

I took a screen grab of his answer... I asked David what were his thoughts of destination weddings. It was amazing how many ladies had wedding related questions.

If you have a chance to watch one of his shows it's totally worth it.
I love that he chooses to help out women who seemingly do not have lots of money and make their wedding dreams come true.

Here's a clip from one of my favorite episodes of My Fair Wedding.

This bride Sheena really did not have an idea for her wedding. When David asked her what she wanted she said "Gaga (Lady Gaga) and Beyonce".

In the full episode David Tutera transformed the wedding as well as the bride, I started noticing the the bride dressing more like a classy lady and easing off of the bright pink lipstick :)

Beer Popsicles

The other day I was reading up on and there was a featured article on something called: Beer Popsicles

Instantly I wanted to know what this was all about....

Last week a Mexican Saloon by the name of Diablo Royale Este on East 12th street in New York city launched what is called "The Hopsicle Experience", it's a frozen can of beer, sliced in half and served like a Push Pop for big kids, launching today at Diablo Royale Este.

Before the summer ends , I'd like to try one.... who's down???

She doesn't like beards... I guess..

The other day, one of my favorite podcasts; Distorted View played a song track from a South African lady name Majela “Zee Zee” Diamond.

The song that was played is simply titled: 'tickle my vagina' ... and from his hilarious description of her... I had to look up the video. A few key words that made me giggle were "I'm the queen of ___", "no bearded men" and how "promiscuous" she is..

Cortes: The Solo Show Video

Last night I finally finished editing the video for visual artist Cortesnyc's solo art show.

The art exhibit was held at 5 Pointz in Queens New York City.

In this video I put together all of the elements of the exhibit (the actual music from the 3 dj's that were spinning, people dancing, people drinking, the actual art work, and just the initial fun vibe).

Shout outs to:

Rooftop Films

Last Night I went to one of the roof top films screenings.
I had a great time and the weather was just right.

All of the films shown were about love.
My favorite of all the films was the 56 minute film directed by Nicole Nielson Horanyi titled The Devilles

It was well scripted documentary about the life of a burlesque dancer and her punk rocker husband. The couple have been together for 26 years and the film walks you through their daily lives and the struggles they have with being married and together so long.

AOL's Bloggers Night Out!

Last night I had the wonderful opportunity to attend one of AOLs blogger events.

This event was called "Bloggers Night Out".

It was held at the beautiful Hudson Terrace right near the Intrepid.

I had a blast meeting some many other women bloggers.

There was plenty of drinks, appetizers, great music and even a cooking demonstration.

I really enjoyed getting a manicure while sipping sparkling white wine.

I really hope I can attend the next event.

Check out my photos from the event.

Bed Intruder

As everyone knows ... the latest meme to hit the web is "The Bed Intruder" .... with in a few days Antoine Dodson has become a "celebrity".

Basically Antoine scared away a man who tried to rape his sister (Kelly Dodson). The possible rapist was actually an intruder and snuck into Kelly's window.

Since the news clip hit the air, people have been going crazy over it. There's an auto tuned remix and now it seems that people are doing Bed Intruder Song Covers... lol wow

Here's the original Huntsville news clip followed by the song and then the covers of the song.

Bed Intruder Original Clip:

Bed Intruder Song Cover ("bit intruder)
